Who We Are

This is an exciting opportunity to join Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) as a Human Resources Business Partner. Working at the heart of one of the UK's most ambitious rail programmes, you'll operate in a truly enterprise environment, collaborating across organisations, partners and stakeholders to shape the future of rail as we move towards GBR.

As an HR Business Partner within TRU, you'll partner with senior leaders to deliver a strategically aligned People Plan that drives programme outcomes. Working in a complex, multi-partner environment, you'll lead change, shape high-performing teams and deliver impactful people solutions across talent, performance and engagement. In addition, this role will act as the HR lead for people data and analytics across TRU, using insight to inform decision making, identify trends and drive measurable improvements in business performance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step beyond a traditional HRBP role and contribute to transformation across a high-profile programme.

If you're looking for your next stretch opportunity and want to make a real impact in a complex, enterprise setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
