Job Title
My client is a leading UK materials and engineering group. Headquartered in the West Midlands, the group has a network of businesses up and down the country, serving a broad variety of industrial sectors. The organisation has grown quickly in recent years, through a mix of acquisitions and organic growth. The business is performing strongly, and now employs circa 1700 people. The leadership team has worked hard to instil a progressive culture, based on personal development, empowerment, and trust.
An opportunity has arisen to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the individual will play a key role in the central HR team, handling a broad range of operational HR matters with a particular focus on Employee Relations. They will also contribute to the strategic development of the HR function as a whole. On a day to day basis the individual will be required to confidently handle operational HR matters such as Employee Relations, grievances, legal issues, and communications. They will be expected to work closely with the leadership team throughout the group to support and advise them on appropriate courses of action on a variety of HR-related matters.

The role will suit an experienced and confident HR professional who can demonstrate a successful track record of handling a range of Employee Relations issues and cases. This will include a strong focus around legal and commercial considerations in the pursuit of reaching appropriate outcomes. An engaging communication style is important, as is the ability to coach and influence managers and directors throughout an organisation. Experience of working in relevant HR roles in organisations with a large number of employees is important (eg at least 800 people).

As a key member of the central HR team, spending at least one day per week in the office is desired. However, beyond this a hybrid working pattern is acceptable. Therefore the right person for this role will live in the Midlands.
