We’re looking for a commercially minded HR Business Partner to join a fast-paced organisation in Leeds on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on, operationally focused HRBP role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong relationships with stakeholders and takes a proactive approach to employee relations.
You’ll partner closely with managers across the business, providing pragmatic HR advice, managing complex and high-volume ER cases, and helping leaders build confidence and capability in handling people matters. The focus is on being visible, solutions-driven and commercially aware, balancing employee experience with business needs.
Experience in a contact centre, call centre or similarly fast-paced, high-volume environment would be particularly valuable.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operational leaders and managers to deliver effective, commercially focused HR support.
- Manage a high volume of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and capability matters.
- Take a proactive approach to ER, identifying trends, addressing issues early and reducing the risk of escalation.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders, influencing and coaching managers to improve their people management skills.
- Support managers in making confident, consistent and commercially sound people decisions.
- Use HR data and ER trends to identify recurring issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Drive consistency in the application of HR policies, processes and employment legislation.
- Contribute to a positive employee experience while supporting operational performance and business objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
