Join SCGMS as an HR Business Partner
SCGMS is looking for an experienced, people-focused HR Business Partner to join our team in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and employees and leading the team, providing practical HR advice and helping to develop a positive, engaged, and high-performing workplace.
You will act as a trusted HR partner across the organisation, supporting managers with employee relations, performance, development, and a wide range of people-related matters.
The Role
As HR Business Partner, you will provide a proactive and professional HR service across SCGMS. You will work closely with managers and senior leaders, helping them manage their teams effectively while ensuring HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence cases.
- Team Leadership
- Coach and support managers with performance and people management.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and employee development.
- Advise on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Support organisational change and workforce planning.
- Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
- Work closely with senior management to deliver people strategies that support business objectives.

About You
We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable, and passionate about supporting people. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor, or similar HR position.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent employee relations experience.
- Experience advising and coaching managers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations professionally.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- CIPD qualification or relevant HR experience is desirable.
