People Business Partner
Some HR roles are all process.
This isn't one of them.
We're looking for a People Business Partner who loves helping managers navigate the messy, human side of business. Someone who knows that the best employee relations cases are often the ones that never become formal because you've coached a manager to have the right conversation at the right time.
You'll be the trusted advisor, sounding board and problem-solver who helps our leaders make great people decisions while balancing commercial reality with fairness, empathy, and common sense.
What you'll be doing
You'll partner with managers across the business, helping them tackle everything from performance conversations and employee relations to coaching, recruitment support, and day-to-day people challenges.
Working alongside the Head of People, you'll:
- Build trusted relationships with managers who genuinely value your advice.
- Coach leaders through tricky conversations before they become bigger issues.
- Lead on employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance.
- Conduct investigations and support formal processes where needed.
- Help managers understand their options rather than simply telling them what to do.
- Support and mentor the HR Advisor, sharing your knowledge and experience.
- Balance risk, legislation, and commercial reality to deliver practical people solutions.
- Contribute to improving People processes and driving positive change across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
