HR Business Partner
Help us shape the Future of People at Tilbury Douglas! Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on partnering with leaders to drive business performance, organisational change, and people development? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join Tilbury Douglas as an HR Business Partner. In this strategic and hands-on role, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders across our Infrastructure, Engineering & Central functions teams to deliver people-focused solutions that support our long-term objectives. From organisational design and talent development to employee engagement and business transformation, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering our People Plan. This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to our regional offices across the UK, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships and make a real impact across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
As a trusted partner to the business, you will:
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Design and deliver HR solutions that improve business performance, workforce planning, and organisational effectiveness.
- Support talent and succession planning initiatives, helping identify and develop future leaders.
- Support managers in creating inclusive, high-performing teams where people can thrive.
- Support our HR Advisor on escalated relations and people management.
- Collaborate closely with our Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development team to ensure our people are recruited effectively and supported in their ongoing development.
- Take ownership of complex and high-risk employee relations matters, providing commercially focused advice and guidance.
- Work alongside external legal partners on employment tribunals and ACAS conciliations where required.
- Support organisational change programmes, restructures, transformations, ensuring effective people management throughout.
- Act as the key HR contact for the business, driving the implementation and adoption of HR policies, processes, and services.
- Monitor HR service delivery and work collaboratively with HR Services to continuously improve the employee experience.
- Deliver key annual HR activities including pay reviews, bonus processes, employee surveys, and people planning cycles.
- Lead and contribute to strategic HR projects that support business growth and transformation.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for a commercially minded HR professional who can influence, challenge, and support stakeholders at all levels.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven HR Business Partner experience within a complex organisation
- CIPD qualified
- Strong generalist HR knowledge, including talent, succession, employee relations, organisational development and change management.
- Demonstrable success delivering HR initiatives that drive business performance.
- Sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
- Commercially minded, solutions-focused and confident influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- Construction, engineering or related sector experience is desirable.
