Alexander Steele Recruitment are working exclusively with an established manufacturing facility in Surrey that is looking for a part-time HR Business Partner (20 hours per week) due to continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the operation, building strong relationships with managers and having a genuine influence on the people agenda.

On Offer

  • £25,000 – £30,000
  • 20 hours per week
  • 24 days holiday + bank holidays (pro rata)

About the Role Working closely with site management and the wider leadership team, you will provide practical, hands-on HR support across a broad range of people matters. This is a varied generalist position where you will act as a trusted partner to managers, helping them effectively manage their teams while supporting the continued development of the site's people practices.

Key Accountabilities

  • Build strong relationships with managers across the site, providing coaching, guidance and constructive challenge when required.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activity, working with managers to ensure the business continues to attract and retain the right people.
  • Identify learning and development needs across the site and support the coordination and delivery of management and people-related training.
  • Take ownership of employee relations matters, including performance, absence, conduct, grievance and other workplace issues.
  • Review people data and HR metrics to identify trends, highlight potential risks and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, retention and wider people initiatives that help create a positive working environment.
  • Support the review and implementation of HR policies, procedures and processes, ensuring they remain practical, consistent and compliant.
  • Provide managers with clear advice on employment legislation, HR best practice and appropriate processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee and HR records, ensuring actions and casework are managed effectively through to completion.
  • Work alongside the leadership team on wider people priorities and support the business through continued growth and change.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong generalist HR experience gained within an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or similar position.
  • Previous experience managing employee relations cases independently
  • A good working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience supporting learning, training or management development initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and changing priorities.
  • Comfortable interpreting HR information and people data to support decision-making.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent relevant HR knowledge and experience.
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing or another operational environment would be highly advantageous.
