HR Business Partner, Data Centre Delivery – Europe
About Volta
Volta is the category-defining, fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform – from capital to clusters to software, under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: AI infrastructure as dependable and available as electricity, for every organization that needs it. Launched with a $10B strategic partnership with one of the leading frontier AI labs, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, Volta is building the infrastructure layer of the AI era from the ground up. We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support Volta's data centre delivery organisation in Europe, the teams responsible for designing, constructing, commissioning and operating our AI factories.
You will partner with delivery leaders across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, contracts and data centre operations as the organisation scales rapidly across multiple European projects. Working closely with the wider People team, you will help build the structures, processes and ways of working that allow delivery teams to perform at their best.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-growing environment. Because our delivery teams are technical, project-driven and site-based, we are looking for someone who comes from a data centre business and understands the market, the roles and the realities of delivering critical infrastructure at speed.
What You Will Be Doing
- Partner with Volta's data centre delivery leaders across Europe as the first point of contact for all people matters
- Support organisational design, workforce planning and headcount decisions as the delivery organisation scales
- Guide managers through performance, development, engagement and retention across office and site-based teams
- Manage employee relations cases with sound judgement across multiple European jurisdictions
- Support the people side of new project and country launches, including employment setup, policies and local compliance
- Coach leaders on management capability, team health and ways of working in high-pressure project environments
- Work closely with the talent team to connect workforce plans, hiring and onboarding into one consistent employee journey
- Develop people policies and processes that work for a growing, multi-country delivery organisation
- Use people data and feedback to advise leaders on engagement, retention and organisational health
- Champion a consistent Volta employee experience across every European market

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
