Job Title: HR Consultant
Working Hours
- 37.5 Hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 with a one-hour lunch break
Role Location
- Upper Heyford, 3 days a week
- 2 days at home
- Option to be in the office 5 days if required/preferred
Salary
- £38k - £40k per annum

Role Summary
We are recruiting for a full-time HR Consultant for our client based near Bicester, Oxfordshire. This role requires flexibility, resilience and the ability to manage a portfolio of clients, in a balanced and measured way. The main challenge is in responding to clients’ expectations, influencing key stakeholders and thinking on your feet in a wide range of industries.
The role is for a self-motivated, service-oriented individual who will enjoy working with various sized businesses, across a wide range of industries. It is a fast-paced, varied role where no two days are the same – a vast amount of generalist HR experience is required!

As well as providing HR support, the individual must be dedicated to the growth and success of the business; always looking for ways to generate business and create new opportunities. This role is a hybrid role with office attendance typically 3 days per week and the requirement to attend on-site for clients as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing timely and accurate email and telephone HR support and advice to a range of clients.
- On-site client visits providing HR advice and support on a wide range of issues.
- Conducting HR audits; providing recommendations and advice.
- Drafting HR documentation including employee handbooks, employment contracts, standard letters and forms.
- Developing and implementing HR policies and processes for clients in line with legislative changes.
- Managing and conducting disciplinary, capability and grievance projects.
- Managing and conducting restructuring and redundancy projects.
- Acting as a client’s internal HR department, proactively managing projects and issues.
- Advising on salaries and benefits.
- Support with training and development.
- Keeping client files up to date on our CRM system.
- Recording and tracking opportunities on our CRM system.
- Keeping up to date with employment law and current legislation and considering the impact for clients
Required Qualifications/Experience
- The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified (ideally but not essential) with considerable generalist HR experience.
- You will be well organised and accurate in both your approach and advice.
- Have a calm, professional and resilient manner.
- Have a well-developed understanding and appreciation of the commercial challenges faced by businesses.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Have strong relationship building skills and the ability to build credibility with key contacts.
- It is essential that the candidate can manage a varied and demanding client base, prioritise their own workload and meet tight deadlines.
- Have a natural interest in your own self-development and be able to demonstrate how you continue to challenge and develop your skills, knowledge and experience.
- Accept a high level of autonomy and have the self-motivation to work alone, be responsible for your own workload and achieve results.
- Must be willing to travel to our clients and work on site as and when required therefore a full UK driving licence with access to your own car is essential.
- You will be in regular contact with the Directors and the rest of the team, to work together.

Interview Process
After qualification with a member of the Exec Recruitment Solutions team, a shortlist will be sent to the client for review.
First-stage interviews with the Company will take place with the Managing Director via Teams. If you’re invited to a second and final stage interview, this will take place with their MD and CEO at their Upper Heyford office.
