HR Consultant

Employee Relations | Investigations | Outsourced HR

Location: Worcestershire

Salary: up to £50,000 per annum

When a business faces a difficult people decision, are you the person its leaders turn to? We’re recruiting an experienced HR Consultant for a specialist HR consultancy providing fully outsourced support to a varied portfolio of businesses.

This is an opportunity to put your expertise at the centre of client decision-making. From conducting a sensitive investigation to guiding a business through reorganisation, you’ll help employers understand their options, manage risk and move forward with confidence.

You’ll bring substantial, current employment law knowledge, strong judgement and recent experience of personally managing complex employee relations cases. In return, the role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to see the impact of your advice across multiple organisations.

Your role

Taking ownership of dedicated client accounts and an allocated caseload, you’ll become a trusted HR partner to business owners, directors and managers. You’ll get to know how each organisation operates and deliver practical advice tailored to its people, priorities and commercial needs.

Your work will include:

  • Complex employee relations: advising on disciplinary and grievance matters, performance, absence and sensitive workplace issues, managing cases through to resolution.
  • Workplace investigations: planning and conducting thorough, impartial investigations, assessing evidence and producing clear reports and findings.
  • Employment law advice: translating current legislation into clear, actionable guidance, explaining risks and helping clients make informed decisions.
  • Redundancy and organisational change: supporting consultation processes, restructures, role reorganisations and changes to terms and conditions.
  • Pay and workforce planning: undertaking salary benchmarking, reviewing role structures and using HR information to inform recommendations.
  • Bespoke HR documentation: developing contracts, policies, procedures and correspondence that reflect each client’s requirements and current legislation.
  • Fully outsourced HR support: providing continuity across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to development and exit.
  • Management coaching: helping leaders handle difficult conversations, improve people management and build their confidence.
  • Client relationships: managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate case records and delivering a responsive service within agreed commitments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you’ll bring

  • Recent, substantial experience of advising managers and personally handling employee relations casework, including disciplinary and grievance processes and investigations.
  • Experience of supporting redundancies, restructuring and organisational change.
  • The confidence to advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with fair process and legal obligations.
  • Clear, precise written communication and the ability to produce robust documentation.
  • Strong organisation and sound judgement when managing several clients, cases and deadlines.
  • A minimum of CIPD Level 5, alongside a degree or equivalent experience.
  • A commitment to keeping your professional knowledge current.
