The role
Looking for your next step in HR, with real variety and a clear route to an Advisor role? This is a chance to join a growing engineering business and become a key part of a small, busy HR team.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll support the full employee lifecycle and keep the HR operation running smoothly. No two days look the same: one hour you're arranging interviews, the next you're running an induction or updating the HR system.
- Coordinate recruitment from vacancy to offer, including adverts, interviews and pre-employment checks
- Own straightforward hires yourself and work with agencies on specialist roles
- Run onboarding and deliver the HR part of new starter inductions
- Manage BPSS screening for new starters
- Be the first point of contact for HR queries from employees and managers
- Handle probation reviews, leavers and routine HR documentation
- Act as superuser for the HR system (HiBob) and keep people data accurate
- Maintain people trackers and support monthly reporting
- Coordinate training requests, keep training records and liaise with providers
- Support early careers activity, including apprentices, graduates and links with schools and colleges
- Administer the benefits platform and work with the benefits broker
- Help deliver engagement events and people communications

About you
- Experience in an HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, HR Officer or similar role
- A solid grasp of core HR processes
- Highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail
- Comfortable working with HR systems and people data
- Confident with employees, managers and external partners
- Able to juggle priorities and take ownership
It would be great if you also bring CIPD (completed or in progress), HiBob experience, recruitment experience, BPSS or other screening experience, or a background in engineering, manufacturing, defence or another regulated sector. None of these are essential.

Our client is a specialist engineering business delivering mechanical and EC&I solutions across defence, nuclear, aerospace and infrastructure. Its people work on complex projects in highly regulated, security-conscious environments, and the business is growing.
Your development
This role goes well beyond traditional HR admin. Once you've settled in, you'll take on more ownership across the function and build your HR advisory skills, with a genuine path into a broader HR role.
