Role Overview

Supporting the HR Advisor, the role will help deliver an efficient and professional HR service while acting as a first point of contact for staff and managers on HR-related matters.

The successful candidate will have experience in HR administration and recruitment, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service. They will be able to build positive working relationships, maintain confidentiality, and support the school’s safeguarding and compliance responsibilities while developing their HR career.

Salary & Benefits

  • £28,000 per annum

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Managing the full end-to-end recruitment process, from vacancy through to appointment.
  • Advertising vacancies and managing recruitment campaigns.
  • Managing applications and coordinating interview and selection processes.
  • Carrying out and coordinating pre-employment checks.
  • Supporting new starters through the onboarding process.
  • Ensuring recruitment processes are completed in line with the organisation's safer recruitment procedures.

Employee Relations

  • Providing support with routine and low-level employee relations (ER) matters, including:
    • Grievances
    • Sickness and absence
    • Disciplinary matters
    • Other day-to-day employee relations issues
  • Escalating more complex or sensitive ER cases to the HR Advisor or Head of HR where appropriate.
  • Providing guidance and support to employees and managers throughout the HR process.

About You

We are looking for someone who is people-focused, adaptable, and confident working across a broad range of HR activities.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working in an HR role.
  • Experience of recruitment would be desirable.
  • A background in education, schools, or social care would be particularly advantageous, given the organisation's safer recruitment requirements.
  • Strong education or social care experience may also be considered where candidates have the transferable skills required for the role.
  • CIPD qualification or membership is desirable, but not essential.
  • A full driving licence and access to your own transport, due to the location of the role.
