Role Description
The Human Resources Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Luton, responsible for leading the HR function and aligning people strategies with Carlisle Support Services’ mission, vision, and values. This role oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and processes, ensuring compliance with labour and employment law across all service lines. - Directing employee relations activities
- Advising leaders on complex HR issues
- Managing performance management frameworks to support high-quality service delivery
The Human Resources Director will partner with senior leadership on workforce planning, talent development, and change initiatives, while fostering an inclusive, accountable, and engagement-focused culture. The role also involves:
- Monitoring HR metrics
- Managing HR projects
- Representing HR in strategic decision-making and stakeholder communications
- Leading on DPO responsibilities
- Leading advisors on equality and diversity issues
- Working with the Business to ensure that the performance management process is aligned with the strategic needs and policies of Carlisle

Qualifications
- Reduction in unresolved ER cases and case duration
- Reduction in suspension pay
- Reduction in employment tribunals
- Legislative compliance including Employment Rights Bill changes
- Successful delivery of all TUPE consultations and transfers
- Strong union and employee representative relationships
- Audit-ready HR and employee records
- Scalable HR structure supporting business acquisitions and growth
- A good understanding of GDPR
- The flexibility to work outside normal office hours may be required from time-to-time, and willingness to travel across the UK to ensure HR are strategically represented in all areas of our business
