HR Director

£100,000 per annum

Location: Cardiff

Permanent, Full-Time, 40 hours

We are seeking a HR Director who shares our values and ambitions to join our team, based at our Central Support office in Cardiff. Being part of the leadership team, the post holder will be responsible for establishing and implementing the people strategy and assessing the priorities for a growth-focused company. They will play a critical role in shaping the HR function and direction of travel, ensuring that our human resources initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with overall company objectives.

The HR Director will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the HR team in a generalist leadership capacity. With a focus on the key areas of talent acquisition, retention, employee engagement, and development, they will deliver a people agenda that ensures an exceptional experience for our team members throughout their employee life-cycle and establish a high-performance culture.

Given the broad remit of this role, the ideal candidate will be someone who brings relevant professional experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and offers a strategic and operational approach.

The role will require frequent travel to our care homes and other sites in Wales. Therefore, it is essential that the post holder is a driver and ideally, has access to their own vehicle.

Caron Group is a family of care homes across mid and south Wales. Our ethos is to provide quality care and ensure that privacy, dignity, and choice for our residents is at the core of everything we do. We have been operating in the care sector for twenty-three years and specialise in residential, nursing, and dementia care for older people. We are currently undergoing an exciting chapter in our growth and are looking for dedicated individuals to join us on this journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and implementing HR strategy and organisational development plan
  • Providing strategic leadership to deliver effective HR operations and services that align with the company’s business objectives and reporting on performance metrics
  • Developing HR System Strategy and Vision. Partnering with HR, Legal, and Finance teams to identify opportunities for HR system automation, integration, and process efficiencies
  • Leading an effective and efficient HR team to achieve the highest standards of service delivery to all stakeholders, providing HR advice, guidance, and support to the business leaders to successfully manage change
  • Acting as trusted advisor to the directors and senior management team, providing coaching on sensitive and complex employment matters. Providing helpful insights to guide decision making
  • Managing group HR policies, procedures, and contracts, ensuring compliance
  • Defining and embedding company values within working practices throughout the organisation, championing best practice at all times.

Essential Skills / Competencies

  • Proven track record of delivering in a HR Leadership role at director level, developing and implementing people practices, and leading HR function
  • Ability to balance strategic and operational responsibilities
  • People-focused individual with strong people management skills
  • Experience driving employee engagement and improving organisational culture
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and practical application
  • Dynamic, results-driven, and commercially aware
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships
  • Strong team player with a positive collaborative and hands-on approach
  • Ideally MCIPD qualified and educated to degree level
  • Social/Health care sector experience would be advantageous
  • Full, Clean UK Driver's Licence
  • An understanding of and adherence to Caron Group’s ethos

Package

  • Full time – 40 hours a week
  • Salary – £100,000 per annum

Do You

  • Have a proven track record in a similar role at Director level?
  • Have in-depth knowledge of employment law and practical application?
  • Have social care and/or healthcare sector experience?

Bachelor's (preferred)

Experience

People Management: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification

MCIPD and/or relevant professional certification (preferred)
Full, Clean UK Driver's Licence (required)
