Human Resources Generalist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Human Resources Generalist based in United Kingdom.

This role offers the opportunity to support a broad range of HR activities across the full employee lifecycle.

You’ll play a central role in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, training, and offboarding.

Working closely with employees, managers, and leadership, you’ll help ensure HR processes are consistent, organized, and employee-focused.

You’ll manage sensitive information with discretion while maintaining accurate records and reliable HR documentation.

The position combines hands-on HR administration with opportunities to identify process gaps and improve the employee experience.

You’ll work in a growing organization where independent judgment, attention to detail, and dependable execution are highly valued.

Accountabilities

  • Manage recruiting activities for approved positions, including job postings, resume reviews, candidate screening, interview coordination, and candidate communications.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, including required documentation, orientation activities, personnel records, and internal onboarding requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding routine HR questions, processes, and concerns.
  • Support managers with employee performance, conduct, and disciplinary matters while maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate employee performance review processes and ensure related documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Administer routine employee benefits activities, including enrollment, employee changes, and employee questions.
  • Coordinate required and employee development training while maintaining accurate training records.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential personnel files, employee records, HR forms, and related documentation.
  • Administer established HR policies and procedures and support their consistent application across the organization.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding, including separation documentation, company-property returns, access-removal coordination, and exit interviews.
  • Maintain HR checklists, templates, standard operating procedures, and recurring HR processes.
  • Track HR deadlines, documentation requirements, and routine compliance-related activities.
  • Identify HR process gaps and recommend improvements that increase consistency, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Escalate sensitive or higher-risk employee matters to appropriate leadership when required.
  • Support additional HR and employee-related initiatives as organizational needs evolve.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional Human Resources experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and employee onboarding.
  • Experience supporting employee offboarding and maintaining personnel documentation.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Experience supporting employee benefits administration and responding to employee benefits questions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple HR activities, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, identify issues proactively, and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Broad HR experience within a small or mid-sized organization is preferred.
  • Experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, People Operations Specialist, or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience supporting professional services, technology, government contracting, or similar workforces is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, applicant tracking, payroll, benefits, or related HR systems is preferred.
  • Experience with BambooHR is a plus but not required.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or a similar HR certification is an advantage.
