About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a high-performing HR Operations team, supporting a busy manufacturing site in North Devon. This is a varied role where you’ll provide trusted HR guidance to employees and managers, particularly on complex, non-standard or higher-risk situations. You’ll combine strong employee-facing skills with sound judgement, policy expertise and a continuous improvement mindset, helping to deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience while also improving HR processes and ways of working across the wider organisation.

About the Company

Our client is a global life sciences and biotechnology organisation operating within a large, highly respected international group. Their technology and solutions support customers working across biological research, diagnostics, vaccines, medicines, and advanced therapies, contributing to scientific innovation and improvements in human health. The organisation has a strong culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and inclusion, with a focus on giving employees the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing their own careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve moderate to complex HR cases across areas including employee lifecycle, time and attendance, benefits and policy interpretation.
  • Provide trusted advice and practical guidance to employees and managers on sensitive or non-standard HR matters.
  • Apply HR policies, procedures and governance consistently, using sound judgement when dealing with complex situations.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for HR service delivery teams, providing guidance, coaching and decision support on complex cases.
  • Translate HR policies and procedures into clear, practical guidance, including decision trees, job aids and knowledge articles.
  • Identify recurring issues, demand drivers, process defects and escalation trends.
  • Carry out basic root-cause analysis and recommend practical improvements and countermeasures.
  • Work collaboratively with HR colleagues across the wider organisation to simplify, standardise and improve HR processes.
  • Support the effective operation of HR service delivery processes, including case routing, workflows, SLAs and governance.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, data privacy, compliance and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to policy harmonisation and consistent application of HR processes across different teams and locations.
  • Balance day-to-day case resolution with HR enablement and continuous improvement activity according to business demand.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
