This is a contract opportunity with an initial term of 6 months.

The Role

The role will act as a key HR contact for site leadership, supporting day-to-day people matters while also contributing to wider HR programmes, employee engagement activity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

A significant part of the position will involve supporting annual HR processes, including pay reviews, performance management, talent planning, employee engagement activity, and learning and development. The role will also help managers and employees access HR services and make effective use of HR systems and self-service resources.

The position primarily supports operational activities across the UK, with responsibility for a workforce of approximately 200 employees plus the wider business population.

Location coverage: up to 9 operational sites, including Wigan, Goole, Daventry, Cannock, Lichfield, and Sittingbourne throughout the West Midlands and North West England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted HR partner to site leaders and operational management teams across the UK network.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and people-related matters.
  • Coach managers to confidently handle day-to-day employee issues and make effective use of HR self-service processes and systems.

  • Work with operational leadership to develop and deliver effective employee engagement plans and initiatives.
  • Support the introduction and implementation of wider HR programmes, including improvements to HR technology, employee experience, recruitment, and employee feedback.
  • Contribute to initiatives designed to improve inclusion, representation, and diversity across operational teams.
  • Work collaboratively with HR colleagues across the UK and wider European organisation to share best practice and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Partner with HR operations teams on process improvements and the effective delivery of HR services.
  • Support recruitment activity, working with talent acquisition colleagues to ensure vacancies are filled efficiently with high-quality candidates.
  • Improve and support new starter onboarding, training, and compliance processes.
  • Provide guidance and support during annual HR cycles, including performance reviews, salary reviews, talent and succession planning, and employee engagement surveys.
  • Work with specialist HR teams to support reward, learning, development, and talent initiatives.
  • Produce relevant HR information and reports to support local management discussions and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate employee and personnel records.
  • Monitor completion of mandatory learning and support managers in addressing outstanding requirements.
  • Support organisational change programmes and help managers communicate and implement change effectively.
  • Provide generalist HR support across the full employee lifecycle within a fast-paced operational/manufacturing environment.
  • Work effectively within a matrix structure and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Provide sound, commercially aware HR guidance to help managers make effective people and business decisions.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, including delivery within agreed budgets where applicable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
