Harris Hill Partners with Hospice for HR Manager Recruitment
Harris Hill is delighted to be partnering with a well-established hospice and family support organisation in the recruitment of an HR Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join an organisation committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients and their families.
Role Overview
The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension. It is a hybrid role, with two days per week working from the hospice’s office in Bromsgrove (near Birmingham).
Responsibilities
As HR Manager, you will be joining the organisation in a newly created, standalone HR role, providing trusted and proactive HR advice across the organisation.
- Support managers and clinical leads across the full employee lifecycle.
- Lead on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance management.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, safer recruitment and succession planning.
- Maintain and develop HR policies and ensure compliance with employment legislation, CQC requirements and safeguarding frameworks.
- Support learning and development, staff wellbeing and engagement.
- Produce workforce reports.
- Lead HR projects including EDI, change management and wellbeing initiatives.

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced and strategic HR generalist professional with CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, a strong understanding of employment legislation, HR compliance, policies, procedures and best practice, and experience managing HR within a sensitive or regulated environment. As a self-starter, you will be comfortable working independently, establishing and developing an HR function from the ground up, and using your expertise to drive positive cultural change across the organisation.
- Confident coach and adviser, with excellent communication skills.
- Strong emotional intelligence.
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy, discretion and professional judgement.
- Experience within healthcare, charity, hospice or social care settings would be advantageous.
