HR Manager | Swindon | Manufacturing
12 month Fixed Term Contract
We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of day-to-day HR delivery within a busy manufacturing environment in Swindon.
This is a genuinely hands-on, operational HR role. You’ll be visible across the site, working closely with managers and employees, managing ER matters and helping to create a practical, consistent and commercially focused approach to people management.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing Employee Relations cases end-to-end, including absence, conduct, capability and grievance
- Providing pragmatic, risk-aware HR advice to managers and employees
- Coaching managers and building their confidence in handling people issues
- Leading performance management activity
- Supporting talent, succession and reward processes
- Improving and simplifying HR processes
- Using HR data and KPIs to identify trends and drive action
- Supporting the effective use of HRIS, Power BI and AI tools
- Delivering practical manager training
- Representing HR as part of the wider leadership team
- Potentially managing and developing members of the HR team

What we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced operational HR professional who is comfortable making decisions, challenging when necessary and working at pace.
Essential:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent hands-on HR generalist experience
- Strong operational HR generalist knowledge
- Excellent Employee Relations experience
- Practical knowledge of UK employment law
- Confidence managing ER cases independently
- Strong judgement and a practical, common-sense approach
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a changing environment
