Company Description

Witham Hall School is a happy and dynamic co-educational boarding and day school set within superb grounds on the Lincolnshire/Rutland border.

Role Description

The School is seeking an experienced, motivated and highly organised HR Manager to manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Bursar, this role will provide expert HR advice and support to senior leaders, managers and staff, ensuring the School remains compliant with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements, GDPR, ISI regulations and HR best practice. The successful candidate will support the School's strategic objectives while fostering a positive and professional working environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements within an educational or similarly regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • High level of organisation, attention to detail, and confidentiality when managing sensitive staff information and records.
  • Experience using HR information systems and office productivity tools (e.g., HRIS, spreadsheets, word processing, and email).
  • Relevant HR qualifications, such as CIPD certification or a degree in Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a school or education setting is highly beneficial, but not essential, as well as familiarity with safer recruitment and safeguarding practices.
