HR Manager
Bellshill | Permanent | 4 days on-site, 1 WFH
We’re delighted to be partnering exclusively with our customer to appoint two HR Managers to their Operations HR team during a really interesting period of change and transformation.
These are broad, senior generalist roles combining hands-on operational HR with the opportunity to play a key part in a significant transformation agenda.
You’ll be highly visible within a busy manufacturing operation, taking ownership of complex ER, coaching and constructively challenging leaders and building strong relationships across the business. This is a role where you’ll be expected to use your judgement, influence decisions and confidently navigate the realities of a fast-paced operational environment.
Alongside BAU, you’ll also get involved in some significant people projects, including SuccessFactors implementation, leadership capability, continuous improvement and wider HR transformation.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who has already operated at HR Manager or HR Business Partner level within an FMCG or manufacturing environment and is comfortable stepping into a role with this level of pace, autonomy and responsibility from day one.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

You’ll also bring:
- Strong generalist HR experience - with proven ownership of complex ER, absence, performance and capability matters from initial advice through to resolution.
- Operational HR partnering experience - working directly with operational and frontline leadership teams within a manufacturing or FMCG environment and comfortable being visible and accessible on site.
- Confidence to coach, influence and challenge - able to constructively challenge leaders and influence business decisions rather than simply provide HR advice.
- Sound judgement - comfortable navigating complex or sometimes grey situations, assessing risk and considering the wider impact on the business, its people, culture and values.
- Experience balancing competing priorities - able to manage a busy operational HR remit while maintaining momentum across wider people priorities.
- Change and improvement experience - demonstrable involvement in HR projects, transformation, organisational change or continuous improvement alongside BAU delivery.
- A proactive approach - able to identify opportunities for improvement, take ownership, drive activity forward and follow through to delivery and outcome.
- A data-led mindset - curious about what the data is telling you and able to use it to diagnose issues, inform your approach and measure whether improvements have genuinely delivered an impact.
