HR Manager Vacancy, Ulverston

3 or 4 days per week

Permanent, Hybrid

£50,000-£55,000 (FTE)

HR Recruit are partnering with an industrial organisation looking to recruit a standalone HR Manager for an SME in Ulverston, Cumbria. The role reports into the Managing Director. The client will consider candidates looking to work 3 or 4 days per week and there is the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week. The purpose of the role is to partner with managers and employees across all departments while supporting strategic and operational HR activities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead employee engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives across the business, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment
  • Provide practical HR advice, coaching and support to managers
  • Manage disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and HR best practice
  • Lead recruitment activities from workforce planning through to onboarding
  • Support learning and development activities across the business
  • Identify development opportunities for employees and managers
  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures and employee documentation
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide reporting and insights to support decision-making

Person Specification

  • At least 5 years previous HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing employee relations matters across the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding and people development activities
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across the business
  • Familiarity with HR systems, reporting and people analytics

In return you will receive a salary between 50-55K (Pro rata) plus bonus and excellent benefits.

The salary banding advertised is a guideline, the remuneration offered will be commensurate upon experience
