- Independently manage ER cases, including workplace investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, misconduct and performance management, from intake through to resolution.
- Support organisational change initiatives and provide ER guidance throughout periods of transformation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation, regulatory requirements, HR policies and best practice to ensure compliance and minimise risk.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide practical solutions aligned with business needs and organisational goals.
- Partner with the in-house Legal team on complex cases and risk matters where appropriate.
- Analyse ER trends and data to identify risks, support proactive interventions and recommend improvements to policies and processes.
- Deliver training and guidance to managers on ER topics, encouraging early intervention and a high-performance culture.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes, tools and KPIs to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Support wider HR projects and collaborate with the team while managing multiple priorities and a varied ER caseload.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
