As our HR Manager, you'll lead a dedicated HR team, providing expert advice, coaching, and support to managers across the organisation. What the role involves:

As HR Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of our HR service, ensuring managers receive practical, commercially focused, and legally compliant advice across the full employee lifecycle.

This includes:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing the HR team to deliver an outstanding HR service
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations matters
  • Supporting managers with disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, performance, and safeguarding-related issues
  • Leading on complex investigations, hearings, and appeals where required
  • Managing organisational change, restructures, redundancies, and TUPE transfers
  • Supporting flexible working, family-friendly policies, and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Working with Occupational Health and other external professionals to support employee wellbeing
  • Developing practical guidance, toolkits, and resources to build manager confidence
  • Designing and delivering HR and people management training for managers
  • Managing ACAS Early Conciliation matters and supporting Employment Tribunal preparation
  • Partnering with legal advisors to manage employment law risk
  • Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure legal compliance and best practice
  • Monitoring HR metrics and employee relations trends to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Producing reports and management information for senior leaders
  • Supporting strategic HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with managers across the organisation to promote a positive, values-led culture

Working pattern:

This is a full-time leadership role based primarily at our Head Office, with regular travel to Dignus services as required.

You'll work closely with operational leaders across the business, providing visible HR leadership and support. Flexibility will occasionally be required to meet the needs of the organisation, including travel between sites and occasional early morning or evening meetings.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What we're looking for:

We welcome applications from experienced HR Managers, Senior HR Advisors, HR Business Partners, or Employee Relations specialists who are ready to lead a busy and dynamic HR function.

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases through to conclusion
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing restructures, redundancies, and TUPE transfers
  • Experience supporting ACAS Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal cases
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing HR teams
  • Excellent coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong report writing, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • The confidence to influence and advise managers at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused, and commercially aware approach
  • The ability to build trusted relationships while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality

You'll ideally be CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualified (or working towards a CIPD qualification).

Experience within the health and social care sector would be advantageous but isn't essential if you have strong employee relations and leadership experience within another regulated or fast-paced environment.
