We're looking for an experienced HR Manager to partner with our Starbucks operational leadership team, providing commercially focused people support that drives engagement, performance and business success.
Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, this is a highly visible field-based role where you'll work closely with the Starbucks Brand Leader, Regional Managers and District Managers to influence and deliver people strategies across the business. The role requires regular travel across our Starbucks estate.
Location: Field Based, England (Extensive Travel Required)
Our Starbucks stores are located across England, from Chester to Grimsby, Lancaster to Nottingham, with additional locations across Greater London, Surrey and Berkshire. Candidates should be located to make the most impact to the business and be willing to travel regularly across the estate. Estate map available at telephone interview stage.
What You'll Be Doing
Partnering with Operations
- Act as a trusted HR business partner to operational leaders across the SFG UK Starbucks brand.
- Provide expert, pragmatic HR advice aligned to business goals.
- Build strong relationships with field and support centre teams.
- Use people metrics and insights to identify trends and drive action plans.
Leading the SFG UK Starbucks People Agenda
- Support the delivery of people strategies that enhance engagement, retention and performance.
- Champion initiatives that improve the employee experience.
- Drive projects that support continuous improvement across recruitment, onboarding and development.
- Contribute to the review and enhancement of HR policies and processes.

Talent & Workforce Planning
- Support recruitment and workforce planning activities across the brand.
- Coach and develop managers to strengthen people leadership capability.
- Help build succession pipelines and long-term talent plans.
- Promote best practice in hiring, development and performance management.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters and employment legislation.
- Support complex disciplinary, grievance, absence management and appeal processes.
- Ensure policies and procedures are applied consistently and compliantly.
- Analyse trends and recommend solutions that improve manager capability and reduce risk.
Driving Engagement & Culture
- Support the creation of a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.
- Monitor and report on key people metrics including turnover, retention, engagement and absence.
- Work with leaders to improve team performance and employee experience.
- Be a visible HR presence across the operation.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced HR professional who combines strong people skills with commercial awareness and a genuine passion for supporting operational teams.
Essential Experience
- Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualified
- Proven HR experience within a multi-site environment, ideally hospitality, retail, foodservice or FMCG.
- Strong employee relations experience, including complex case management.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience influencing and coaching operational leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK.

- Experience working within franchised or branded environments.
- Experience partnering with external stakeholders and brand representatives.
- Previous hospitality, QSR or retail sector experience.
