Overview

We’re looking for an HR Manager to help us build Tallow+Ash into one of the most exciting modern brands in the UK and create an equally brilliant place to work.

As the first dedicated HR person in the business, you’ll have the opportunity to build our people function from the ground up. This is a broad, hands-on role covering recruitment, culture, employee relations, contracts, policies, legal compliance, performance and the everyday support our people and managers need.

You’ll work closely with the founders, COO and wider leadership team to help us hire exceptional people, build a high-performing culture and create the systems needed to support a rapidly growing business. You’ll be equally comfortable thinking strategically, handling sensitive situations and getting stuck into the practical details.

The role will be based at Tallow+Ash HQ, with remote working also considered for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building the HR function

    • Establish the people processes, policies and systems needed to support the business as it grows
    • Take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to development and offboarding
    • Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and internal processes
    • Give clear, practical advice to founders, leaders and managers on people-related matters
  • Hiring brilliant people

    • Manage recruitment across the business, from defining roles and writing job adverts to screening and coordinating interviews
    • Build a strong and consistent hiring process that helps us identify people with the right skills, ambition and cultural fit
    • Manage offers, contracts, references, right-to-work checks and onboarding
    • Help develop Tallow+Ash into an employer that attracts exceptional people

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
