About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our team and take ownership of a broad range of HR activities across the organisation.
This is a hands-on, generalist HR role, providing expert advice and support to managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. You will play a key role in employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, employee engagement and organisational development, while helping to create a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.
The successful candidate will be confident operating autonomously, building trusted relationships across the organisation and providing pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice.
Duties
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to development, performance management and exit.
- Coordinate new starter processes, including offer letters, contracts, induction programmes and pre-employment checks, including right-to-work verification.
- Manage HR processes including probation, performance reviews, absence management, promotions, transfers and employee exits.
- Provide professional and practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of employment matters.
- Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance matters, absence and performance issues.
- Coach and support managers on HR best practice, employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Ensure HR policies, processes and practices remain compliant with current employment legislation and organisational requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in employment legislation and advise management accordingly, including reviewing, updating and creating HR policies.
- Support effective performance management, development planning and regular employee reviews.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate learning and development initiatives.
- Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
- Monitor HR metrics and provide regular reporting, insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning and talent management initiatives.
- Review and continuously improve HR processes, systems and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll information.
- Support organisational change, restructuring and other business initiatives as required.
- Coordinate internal HR and employee communications.
- Undertake other ad-hoc HR tasks and projects as requested by the CFO and Managing Director.

Essential Experience & Skills
- CIPD Level 5 or above.
- Minimum 5 years' HR generalist experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Proven experience managing employee relations cases with confidence.
- Strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle and HR processes.
- Experience using HR systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce and interpret HR reports and metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Sound judgement and confident decision-making skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- High levels of discretion, integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach.
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructuring or transformation initiatives.
- Practical experience of TUPE, including both TUPE transfers in and out.
