About Restrata
Headquartered in London, Restrata was originally founded as the technology arm of one of the largest security services companies globally, providing decades of design, prepare and respond solutions across energy clients including high-threat areas in the Middle East and Africa. Experience drawn from working in the industry has created Restrata’s integrated, end-to-end risk and resilience management solution.
Restrata is now a global technology company with a strong heritage of delivering resilience software across the globe. Our software and services operate in over 40 countries and we are trusted by 7 of the 10 largest energy companies worldwide, with a 24/7 operations centre in Aberdeen supporting our wider global teams in the US and UAE.
All employees are required to uphold the values and standards of Restrata, demonstrating commitment to the Restrata Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and procedures for Quality, Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Security.
About the Role
This is a 12 to 14 month fixed-term maternity cover role for an experienced operational HR professional who is comfortable running a full HR function single-handedly. A comprehensive handover begins in early November to ensure a well-supported transition, with a further handover period at the end of the term. The role ends on the return of the substantive postholder.
You will own the day-to-day HR service across the employee lifecycle for a c.115-person business operating in the UK, US and UAE. The role is based in our London headquarters on a hybrid basis, with travel to our Aberdeen office, where our 24/7 operations centre and a significant proportion of our UK workforce are located. The emphasis is on running the function well and keeping the business compliant, rather than on designing new frameworks. It suits someone who wants a clearly defined brief, real autonomy, and direct exposure to an executive team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
