HR Manager – Standalone Role
Hull, East Yorkshire | Manufacturing | Permanent | Fully Onsite
Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with one of our Manufacturing clients in Hull to help identify a HR manager for their UK business. This is a standalone HR Manager role who will take ownership of the full HR agenda across the organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, working directly with senior leaders and having genuine ownership of the people agenda.
As the sole HR lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the people strategy, whilst also being comfortable rolling up your sleeves and dealing with the day-to-day realities of a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll provide a comprehensive HR service across the business, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees at all levels.
This is a true generalist HR role, covering everything from employee relations, recruitment and performance management through to learning and development, talent management, workforce planning and organisational change.

You’ll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle and will have the opportunity to make a visible impact across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR lead and trusted business partner to the Senior Leadership Team and managers.
- Provide expert advice and guidance across all areas of employee relations, including complex cases, investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
- Coach and develop managers, building confidence and capability across people management.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and talent acquisition activity across the business.
- Develop and implement effective workforce planning, talent management and succession planning initiatives.
- Own the company's learning and development strategy, identifying training needs and developing organisational capability.
- Lead performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
- Develop, review and maintain HR policies, procedures and best practice.
- Support organisational change, restructures and wider business transformation projects.
- Use HR data and insight to support business decisions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Payroll to support the monthly payroll process, benefits administration and related employee queries.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and effectively manage HR risk.
- Develop effective internal communications and ensure employees remain informed and engaged.
- Provide a professional, commercially focused and customer-oriented HR service across the organisation.

What we're looking for:
We're looking for an experienced generalist HR Manager / HR Business Partner who is comfortable operating autonomously and enjoys a varied, hands-on role.
You'll ideally have:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR qualification.
- Significant generalist HR experience within a commercial environment.
- Strong employee relations and conflict resolution experience.
- Experience across recruitment, performance management, talent management and succession planning.
- Experience developing and delivering learning and development strategies.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- The confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Good knowledge of HR systems and Microsoft Office
Most importantly, you'll have a hands-on, proactive approach and be someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making things happen.
