The Vacancy

ASK4 Ltd is recruiting a HR Manager on a fixed-term maternity cover basis for 9 - 12 months. This is a senior HR generalist role based in Sheffield city centre, with hybrid working in place (minimum 2 days per week on site).

The role is the primary HR contact for the Senior Leadership Team across multiple business functions, with direct line management of an HR Operations Lead and indirect accountability for a team of four HR Coordinators.

This role would suit an experienced HR Business Partner or HR Manager with a strong background in complex employee relations and senior stakeholder management, looking for a substantive interim position.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR business partnering with Senior Leaders across multiple functions
  • End-to-end management of complex ER cases: disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance management, and redundancy
  • Advising and coaching managers on UK employment law and legally compliant HR practice
  • Reviewing and signing off ER documentation produced by the HR Operations team
  • Direct line management of the HR Operations Lead; indirect management of four HR Coordinators
  • Contributing to M&A HR activity including due diligence and Day 1 integration planning
  • Partnering with Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, succession, and capability development
  • Embedding performance review, pay review, and talent processes across business areas

Essential Requirements

  • Significant HR generalist experience including complex ER case management
  • Experience of partnering with and influencing at Director or Senior Leadership level
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application
  • CIPD qualified – Level 5 minimum; Level 7 preferred
  • Experience of line managing or developing HR team members
  • Confident working independently across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • M&A HR experience including TUPE and integration
  • HR experience across European entities or multi-jurisdiction employment law
  • Additional European language skills

Working Arrangements

This role is hybrid. The minimum expectation is two days per week at our Sheffield city centre office (S1). Flexibility on which days will be agreed with the line manager. This role is maternity cover for a period of 9 - 12 months.
