Are you a CIPD-qualified HR Manager who thrives in a hands-on, commercial, client-facing role? If you want to play a key part in our growth and deliver high-impact HR support to a loyal client base, we’d love to hear from you. Due to continued client success and expansion, we’re looking for an experienced, solutions-focused, tech-savvy HR Manager/Consultant to join us. You’ll provide pragmatic, compliant and commercially-minded HR support across the employee lifecycle, building trusted relationships and delivering measurable improvements in people practices, capability and culture.
About Us
Auxilium HR is a strategic HR partner for growing SMEs. We work with business owners and operational leaders who want to scale without people issues slowing them down. We bring structure, clarity, and confidence to how their teams are managed. Most businesses we support have outgrown “ad hoc” HR. Decisions are inconsistent, managers are under-supported, and people issues take up too much time at the top of the business. We change that.
Our approach is built around three practical levers for growth:
- Transformation to align people, structure, and strategy.
- Training to build confident, capable managers.
- Technology to simplify HR and improve decision-making.
Going beyond advice, we work alongside our clients as an extension of their team to build people practices that reduce risk, improve performance and support sustainable business growth.
What can we offer you?
- Competitive starting salary dependent on experience, qualification(s) and what you can bring to our business (up to £60,000 per annum)
- Hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 with 30 mins lunch break and flexible working options
- Clear development and progression opportunities
- 30 days holiday including bank holidays
- Workplace pension
- WPA Health Cash Plan with EAP and Specsavers Corporate Eyecare Scheme
- CIPD membership subscription funded
- Powerful AI enabled Laptop and Company iPhone
- Modern office space with standing desk and generous Company funded office refreshments
- Generous expenses and mileage rates for business travel
- Salary sacrifice car scheme after 12 months service
- Free onsite parking at our Yeovil office and on client site in Shepton Mallet
- A genuinely supportive, sociable and experienced team environment

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your New Role
You’ll support a long-standing key client in the logistics and warehousing sector with regular onsite presence at their site near Shepton Mallet. This is a fast-paced, operational environment with teams working across three shift patterns. You’ll partner closely with the leadership team to strengthen people management capability, embed effective processes (including through new HR/IT systems) and ensure day-to-day HR activity supports safe, productive operations. You will also be working with the Auxilium team to support other exciting clients and internal projects. This is both a strategic and operational role where you will be building strong relationships, understanding operations, and developing your professional skills set. Additional time onsite may be required depending on client projects and needs.
What will I be responsible for?
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the trusted, onsite HR partner for a key logistics client, providing timely, pragmatic advice across the full employee lifecycle.
- Coach and upskill managers on best-practice people management (performance, absence, conduct, capability, probation and difficult conversations), building confidence and consistency.
- Lead and case-manage employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and conflict) fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment law and client policies.
- Develop, implement and embed fit-for-purpose policies, procedures and manager guidance that support operational needs and reduce people risk.
- Partner with the client and Auxilium team to build and deliver a practical people plan aligned to business goals (capability, engagement, retention and compliance).
- Support talent attraction and recruitment: advising on sourcing approaches, designing fair selection processes, and helping hiring managers make robust, evidence-based decisions.
- Identify learning needs and design/deliver training that improves skills, knowledge and behaviours (including manager development).
- Support HR change and continuous improvement projects, including implementation of processes within new HR/IT systems and ways of working.
- Use data, insight and external best practice to continuously improve solutions for clients and contribute to the development of Auxilium HR’s services.
- Work flexibly across the Auxilium client portfolio, adapting priorities in line with business need.
