Are you an experienced HR Manager with a passion for people and have some experience within hospitality?

A leading and well-established hospitality group near Chester is looking for a talented and driven HR Manager to join their team — offering a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a key people function within a dynamic, fast-paced, and rewarding sector.

The Role

As HR Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the business through the full spectrum of human resources activity — from employee relations and recruitment through to policy development and people strategy. You'll be a trusted point of contact for managers and employees across the group, bringing both your HR expertise and your understanding of the unique demands of the hospitality sector to everything you do. This is a hands-on, varied role with real scope to make a positive impact on the organisation's people agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of the day-to-day HR function across the group, providing expert advice and guidance to managers and employees at all levels
  • Managing employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance management
  • Leading on recruitment and onboarding activity, ensuring the business attracts and retains the best talent
  • Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation
  • Supporting managers with workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives
  • Overseeing and managing the HR team, providing leadership, support, and direction
  • Driving employee engagement initiatives and supporting a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Producing HR reports and providing data-driven insight to senior leadership to support business decision-making
  • Keeping up to date with changes in employment law and ensuring the business remains fully compliant at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an HR Manager or senior HR role, with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally
  • Experience within the hospitality sector — restaurants, leisure, hotels or similar — is highly desirable
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels
  • A confident, proactive, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Based within commuting distance of Chester
