HR Officer
Avonmouth, Bristol
Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
37.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, with an early Friday finish at 1.30 pm!) or Monday – Thursday 07.30 – 4.00 pm and Friday 07.30 – 1.00 pm.)
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Officer to join a successful and growing organisation based in Avonmouth. This is a varied generalist role offering exposure across the full employee lifecycle.
Working closely with managers across the business, you'll provide practical HR support, recruitment coordination, build strong working relationships and play a key role in ensuring people matters are handled effectively and in line with best practice. We're looking for someone who is confident in their HR knowledge, enjoys partnering with managers and has previous exposure to employee relations matters as part of a broader generalist role. An enjoyment for recruitment coordination is also key!

The company will support with CIPD Level 5 once successful probation has been passed if that is something you would like to do.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees
- Supporting a range of employee relations matters and helping to ensure policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
- Supporting absence management and employee wellbeing initiatives
- Coordinating training and development activities
- Assisting with compliance and employment legislation requirements
- Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing general administrative support across the HR function
About You
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally at HR Officer level
- CIPD Level 3 qualified or working towards
- Experience supporting employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance or performance issues
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work closely with managers across the business
