The Unicorn Group

The Unicorn Group is a dynamic manufacturing business based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. We supply high-quality vending and washroom products, PVC interlocking floor tiles, rainwater systems and street litter, recycling and medical bins to a wide range of industries internationally. THE ROLE

Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Officer will provide hands-on, generalist HR administration and support across the business. This is a varied, practical role covering the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on day-to-day HR processes, administration, and employee and management support. As part of a small and agile business, the HR Officer will be expected to take a flexible, practical approach and work independently when required.

  • Provide hands-on HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including starters, leavers, records management, and compliance.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment activity, including preparing and placing adverts, coordinating interviews, and managing candidate communication.
  • Prepare employment documentation and support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Provide administrative support for absence management, performance management, probation reviews, and employee relations processes.
  • Support and, where appropriate, conduct routine workplace investigations and disciplinary or grievance processes under the guidance of the HR Director.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and other external providers to coordinate employee assessments and appointments, ensuring confidentiality and accurate records.
  • Maintain HR systems and data, including right-to-work checks, training records, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing initiatives, HR projects, and continuous improvement, including the introduction of new or enhanced HR systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
