There has never been a better time to join the Human Resources team at Loughborough University. We are committed to delivering a high quality, progressive, equitable and inclusive employment experience for our staff and are looking for an organised and customer-focused HR Officer to join our HR Services team.

About the Role

As an HR Officer, you will play an important role in supporting employee lifecycle processes across the University. You will provide administrative support for a wide range of activities including probation, contract changes, DBS checks, sickness, extended family leave, holidays, resignations and retirement, ensuring these are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed procedures. You will maintain employee records, process employee changes, update HR systems, produce correspondence and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR information.

Acting as a first point of contact for HR enquiries, you will provide a professional and responsive service to employees and managers, resolving queries and directing more complex matters to the appropriate HR team. You will work closely with HR Advisers and colleagues across the University to support a seamless employee experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
