Human Resources Officer Permanent | 37.5 hours per week | Group-wide / Any PHG site
Phoenix Hospital Group is looking for an experienced and proactive Human Resources Officer to join our team and play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across the Group.
This is a group-wide position, supporting our sites across the organisation, with occasional travel between locations as and when required.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will work closely with employees and managers, providing professional HR advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for employees and managers, providing advice and guidance on HR matters, employment terms, and policies.
- Support and advise managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and other HR cases.
- Oversee the monthly payroll process across all Phoenix Hospital Group sites.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding process, from vacancy approval through to new starter.
- Monitor employee compliance requirements, including DBS checks, professional registrations, and right-to-work documentation.
- Oversee the Group's UK Visas and Immigration Sponsorship Management System.
- Ensure employee records and information are accurately maintained within Employment Hero.
- Support the administration of pensions, life assurance, and health insurance arrangements.
- Review and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current legislation and best practice.
- Lead and support HR projects and initiatives across the Group.

About You
We are looking for an HR professional who is confident working in a busy environment and able to manage a varied workload with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
You Will Have
- Proven experience working in a busy HR environment.
- CIPD membership – essential.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Experience handling sensitive employee matters with discretion.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to make sound decisions.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
- A commitment to keeping up to date with employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
