The Role

Reporting to and working under the direction of the Operations Director, you will provide practical day-to-day HR support across the full employee lifecycle. You will work within established policies and procedures, providing first-line guidance on routine HR matters while escalating complex, high-risk, or non-routine issues to senior leadership and/or external advisers for direction and approval. The role does not carry final decision-making authority for employee relations matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices to support compliant processes.
  • Providing first-line HR guidance to managers and employees on routine matters in line with company policy, escalating where necessary.
  • Monitoring regulatory or legislative developments and supporting updates to HR policies, templates, and procedures.
  • Coordinating recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions and adverts, managing candidate communications, scheduling interviews, and supporting offer processes.
  • Managing onboarding and induction administration, including pre-employment checks such as right-to-work verification.
  • Supporting employee relations matters by preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, taking notes where appropriate, and ensuring matters are handled consistently and confidentially.
  • Managing absence administration through HR systems, ensuring records are accurate and managers receive appropriate support.
  • Supporting annual leave and other leave administration, ensuring records remain current.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records, including contracts, salary review letters, and general HR correspondence.
  • Supporting performance and development processes such as probation reviews, appraisals, training records, and professional development tracking.
  • Assisting with policy administration and updates, ensuring employees have access to current documentation.
  • Supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives, including internal events, communications, and recognition activities.
  • Using Microsoft 365 tools to improve HR administration and workflow efficiency.
  • Carrying out additional duties aligned with the needs of the business and the level of the role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
