About the Role

We're seeking an experienced People Operations Assistant/Specialist to take ownership of our people operations function during an exciting period of growth and change.

This is a broad and hands-on role combining HR operations, systems management, data governance, compliance, training administration, and process improvement. You'll play a key role in ensuring an excellent employee experience while building scalable, efficient people processes that support the organisation's future growth.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable managing day-to-day operational requirements and leading initiatives that improve how the people function operates.

Key Responsibilities

People Operations

  • Manage and support employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment administration, onboarding, contractual changes, and offboarding.
  • Act as a key point of contact for employee and manager queries.
  • Support performance, reward, benefits, and policy administration.
  • Review and update HR policies, processes, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery across People Operations.

HR Systems & Data

  • Own and manage the HRIS, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of people systems and workflows.
  • Conduct data cleansing activities and establish robust governance standards.
  • Analyse trends and perform root cause analysis to resolve data issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Produce people metrics and reports that support decision-making.

Training & Governance

  • Coordinate and administer training activities across the business.
  • Review existing training processes and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and support compliance requirements.
  • Enhance training governance and operational controls.

Compliance & Change

  • Support organisational growth and change initiatives.
  • Develop and improve people operational infrastructure, processes, and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Contribute to projects relating to payroll, shared services, and operational transformation.
  • Support wider administrative and business improvement activities as required.

About You

You are a proactive People Operations professional who enjoys creating structure, improving systems, and delivering practical solutions.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in a People Operations, HR Operations, HR Shared Services, or similar HR role.
  • Strong HRIS administration and process improvement experience.
  • Experience managing HR data and maintaining data integrity.
  • Good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR compliance.
  • Experience identifying and implementing operational improvements.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Payroll administration or payroll transition experience.
  • Experience supporting organisational change initiatives.
  • HR systems implementation or optimisation experience.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience.
