BMW Financial Services, Farnborough – Human Resources – 13 Month Placement (July 2027)
Summit ONE in Farnborough is home to the National Sales Company for the BMW Group in the UK, as well as BMW Group Financial Services, which offers retailers, corporate and private customers a range of customised financial services. Alphabet (GB) Ltd, a leading provider of Business Mobility Services, is also located in Farnborough.

We have an exciting opportunity in our Human Resources team in Farnborough, within our HR Leadership Partnering team. The HR function enjoys operating as one team to ensure the administration that underpins our HR activities and processes is delivered proactively, within agreed timescales and to a high standard. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality and discretion, while also providing opportunities to identify improvements to the service we provide to our colleagues and stakeholders.
This placement will provide valuable exposure to HR partnering, employee relations, HR operations, reporting, policy application and project activity, helping you build a strong foundation for a future career in HR.

What awaits you?
- Support HR colleagues with a broad range of operational HR activity, including liaising with centralised HR teams, local departments and internal stakeholders to resolve day-to-day queries.
- Undertake ad-hoc HR-related projects as required to support the HR team. This may include projects across the wider HR function, including Recruitment, Planning, Policies and Processes, and Talent Development.
- Produce letters, using templates, to employees as required by HR colleagues within agreed timescales, for example improvement notices as part of managing attendance, discipline or capability letters, and consultation letters.
- Prepare monthly reporting and data for a range of topics, including special birthdays, absence, secondments and fixed-term contract end dates.
- Take notes at investigation, disciplinary, capability and performance management meetings.
- Support the induction process for new employees, including interns, apprentices and graduates.
- Gain exposure to how HR supports leaders and colleagues across the employee lifecycle, including attendance, performance, capability and policy-related matters.
What should you bring along?
- Ideally, you will be studying an HR degree, or a business-related degree that requires or would benefit from an element of HR experience.
- A genuine interest in HR business partnering, employee experience and delivering positive outcomes for colleagues and the business.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Confidence to build strong working relationships, contribute ideas and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- An inquisitive nature, with the confidence to seek out answers and a desire to understand the ‘why’ behind processes and decisions.
- Clear, enthusiastic and effective communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style for different stakeholders and audiences.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- A desire to learn and take on new tasks.
