Recruitment & HR Coordinator | Up to £35,000 | Bedford
Enjoy recruitment, but not convinced you want to be a recruiter forever?
This might be worth a look.
I'm working with a fascinating engineering business in Bedford that's looking for someone to come in and take ownership of its recruitment.
And when I say ownership, I don't mean spending your days booking interviews and updating spreadsheets.
They want you to help build their internal recruitment function.
- You'll manage vacancies from start to finish
- Work directly with hiring managers
- Source candidates
- Improve how they recruit
- Start building proper talent pipelines across some genuinely interesting areas of engineering and professional services
The first 18 months will be heavily recruitment focused.
But here's where it gets interesting.
They don't want you to stay in recruitment forever either.
You'll work closely with an experienced HR Business Partner and gradually start getting exposure to:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Employee Relations
- Disciplinaries and grievances
- Performance and absence management
- Employee engagement
- Change projects
- HR policy
- Wider people initiatives
And they'll fully fund your CIPD qualification while you do it.
The intention is to give someone a genuine pathway from Recruitment → HR → potentially HR Advisor/Business Partner territory as their career develops.
So who am I looking for?
- You could be an agency recruiter who's had enough of chasing monthly targets but still loves the actual recruitment bit.
- You might already work internally as a Recruitment/TA Coordinator and want more ownership.
- Or perhaps you're in an HR role that's heavily recruitment focused and you're struggling to get the broader exposure you need to progress.
You don't need to know anything about aerodynamics.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You do need to be curious enough to want to learn.
You'll be recruiting people into a highly specialised engineering environment working across aerospace, defence and R&D, so there are considerably worse industries to spend your day talking about.
What matters is that you can engage candidates, manage hiring managers, keep multiple processes moving and have enough initiative to look at something that isn't working and improve it.
The important bits:
- 💰 Up to £35,000
- 📍 Bedford
- 📚 CIPD fully funded
- 📈 Clear progression into broader HR
- 🏖️ 26 days' holiday + bank holidays
- 💷 Pension matched up to 7%
- 🏥 Private medical insurance
- 📊 Share incentive plan
