We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Services Manager

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Services Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality HR Services and Recruitment Administration across the organisation.

This is a key role in developing and improving our HR service, with responsibility for leading a multi-disciplinary team, optimising HR processes and systems, and ensuring a consistent, customer-focused service across the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop HR Services and Recruitment Administration, ensuring efficient and accurate delivery within agreed SLAs.
  • Drive a high-performance, customer-focused culture and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and monitor HR KPIs, quality standards and service performance.
  • Manage the Occupational Health contract and external supplier relationships.
  • Work closely with the Head of HR, HR Business Partners and HR Systems teams on service improvements and business-wide projects.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, contracts and processes comply with UK employment law and GDPR.
  • Build effective relationships with Payroll and wider business stakeholders.
  • Produce insightful KPI, Board and management reporting.
  • Lead the performance, development and engagement of the HR Services team.

About you

You will have:

  • Significant experience as an HR Services Manager, ideally within a unionised environment and rail or transport sector.
  • Experience managing general HR Administration and Recruitment services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law, HRIS (ideally Core) and HR KPI metrics.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience producing KPI reports, Board packs and actionable insights.
  • Experience leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team.
