Role Overview

Our Birmingham-based client is looking to hire an experienced HR Shared Services Manager on a contract basis, for an initial period of 6 months, working for a complex and highly regarded business that operates internationally.

In this role, you will lead an established HR Shared Services function, driving operational excellence across the employee lifecycle while developing a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service. This is a highly visible leadership role, offering the chance to influence service delivery, enhance HR processes and technology, and lead transformational change in HR.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, supporting, and developing an HR Shared Services team, creating a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance HR processes.
  • Partnering closely with HR Systems, Payroll, and wider HR teams to deliver efficient end-to-end service delivery.
  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs, service standards, and performance metrics.
  • Acting as the senior SME for HR Shared Services processes and best practice.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and influencing at all levels.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of leading an HR Shared Services, HR Operations, or HR Administration function.
  • A track record of improving processes, driving efficiencies, and delivering change.
  • Experience managing and developing teams through managers and team leaders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Experience working within a complex and/or multi-site environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR systems and their role in driving operational excellence.
  • Availability at relatively short notice.
