People Specialist - 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Reporting to a Senior People Business Partner and working as part of the People Business Partnering team led by the Zellis Operating Company Chief People Officer, we are looking for a People Specialist to join Zellis on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

This is a highly visible role that combines employee relations expertise, business partnering support, people project delivery and data-driven insight. Working closely with People Business Partners and leaders across the organisation, you will help deliver a great colleague experience while supporting managers to make informed, commercially sound and compliant people decisions.

You'll play a key role in coordinating people initiatives, managing employee relations activity, identifying trends and insights, and supporting the delivery of strategic people priorities during an exciting period of business transformation and growth.

Responsibilities

People Business Partnering

  • Support the People Business Partnering team in delivering strategic and operational people priorities across the business.
  • Partner with managers to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice on a broad range of people matters.
  • Support organisational change, workforce planning and restructuring activity where required.
  • Identify emerging people trends, risks and opportunities and escalate appropriately.

Employee Relations

  • Manage employee relations casework across performance, disciplinary, grievance, absence and wellbeing matters.
  • Coordinate ER governance activity and ensure actions are progressed effectively and consistently.
  • Coach managers to build confidence and capability in managing people issues.

People Projects & Change

  • Coordinate and support people initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
  • Support delivery of transformation, culture and organisational effectiveness projects.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance colleague experience and manager effectiveness.

People Insights

  • Produce meaningful people data, reporting and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Identify trends across colleague experience, engagement, performance, absence and employee relations activity.
  • Support preparation of executive updates and people reports.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has strong employee relations experience and sound UK employment law knowledge.
  • Enjoys partnering with managers and influencing positive outcomes.
  • Can balance operational delivery with project and change activity.
  • Is comfortable analysing people data and turning insights into action.
  • Builds trusted relationships quickly and works effectively across different stakeholder groups.
  • Is interested in developing a career within People Business Partnering.
  • Brings energy, resilience and a continuous improvement mindset.
