Senior People Advisor

Salary: £49,717 - £55,243
Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

The Opportunity

Reed Talent Solutions have partnered with a public sector organisation who are seeking an experienced Senior People Advisor to join a collaborative and forward-thinking People team for a 12 month fixed maternity cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys a varied generalist role and is passionate about delivering high-quality people advice, supporting organisational change, and driving continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle.

Working closely with managers and leaders throughout the organisation, you will provide expert HR guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters while contributing to strategic people initiatives, workforce planning, policy development and HR transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability and absence management matters.
  • Partner with managers to provide pragmatic, solution-focused HR advice and coaching.
  • Support organisational change programmes, restructures and consultation exercises.
  • Review and develop HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Support recruitment activities and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic HR projects and service improvement programmes.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of HR and recruitment systems.
  • Design and deliver management development workshops and training interventions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to drive positive people outcomes.

  • Significant HR generalist experience within a busy HR or People function.
  • Strong employee relations expertise with experience handling complex cases from start to finish.
  • A thorough understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and workforce transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting HR systems or recruitment system implementations.
  • A collaborative, proactive and customer-focused approach.
