About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Part-Time Humanities Teacher to join a vibrant educational department on an immediate basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across Humanities subjects (including History, Geography, and Religious Studies) to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The role is offered on a part-time basis, providing the ideal balance between professional fulfilment and personal flexibility. The successful applicant will step into a well-structured framework, taking responsibility for inspiring pupils, managing classroom dynamics positively, and assessing student progress to drive academic achievement.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness for one).
  • References: Provision of full, verifiable professional references covering the last 2 years.
  • Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with curriculum guidelines.
  2. Student Assessment: Monitor, record, and assess student progress regularly, offering constructive oral and written feedback to drive improvement.
  3. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment using constructive behaviour management strategies.
  4. Curriculum Enhancement: Adapt teaching resources and learning materials to cater to a diverse range of learning styles and academic abilities.
  5. Safeguarding: Uphold strict safeguarding and child protection standards at all times to promote student welfare.
  6. Parental Communication: Attend parents evenings and prepare clear, accurate academic reports to keep families informed of pupil achievement.
  7. Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department to share best practices, update schemes of work, and plan resources.
  8. Inclusion and Support: Tailor learning strategies to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
