A growing high voltage engineering business is looking for an experienced High Voltage Commissioning Engineer to join their team, working on HV infrastructure projects across England.
This is a hands-on role covering the testing and commissioning of electrical systems up to 132kV, including substations, grid connections, renewable energy projects and industrial installations.

- GBP72,000 basic salary
- Overtime paid at 1.5x after 8 hours
- Saturday overtime at 1.5x, increasing to 2x after 5 hours
- Sunday overtime paid at 2x
- Typical working pattern includes around 2 hours of overtime per day
- Company van and fuel provided
- GBP40 daily away/overnight allowance, paid through payroll
- Additional GBP40 per night spending allowance on a pre-loaded card
Typical commissioning engineers can take home around GBP5,300+ per month, depending on overtime.
Essential Experience
- 3+ years hands-on HV commissioning experience
- Proven commissioning experience up to 132kV
- Must already have SAP experience/authorisation – this is not a role for someone currently training to become an SAP
- Experience working across DNO, ICP, IDNO or private HV networks
- Strong knowledge of HV testing, protection, switchgear and commissioning procedures
- Comfortable working independently on site and managing commissioning activities
