HV Design Engineer
Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week in Surrey
Salary: Up to £50,000

About the Role
We're looking for a HV Design Engineer to support the design and adoption of LV and HV electricity networks, with a particular focus on distributed generation and grid connections. You'll work closely with customers, developers, DNOs, and internal teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient network solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and assess LV/HV electricity networks
- Carry out network impact studies including voltage rise, ELI, thermal loading, and fault level assessments
- Support generation and grid connection applications
- Liaise with DNOs, ICPs, developers, and customers
- Ensure compliance with G99, G100, and industry standards
- Manage technical submissions and connection approvals
- Support project delivery and maintain accurate project records
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in electricity network design (LV/HV)
- Knowledge of distributed generation and grid connections
- Experience using WinDebut, IPSA, VisNet, or similar software
- Understanding of G99/G100 requirements
- Ability to perform network studies and technical assessments
- Good CAD and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Desirable
- Experience with solar PV, wind, CHP, or other renewable technologies
- Background within a DNO, IDNO, ICP, or utility environment
- Exposure to EHV networks
