Electrical Design Engineer
Norfolk Hybrid available post–probation Permanent

Our client, a growing engineering specialist, is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to work on projects spanning 11kV to 400kV for a range of clients.

The Role

You'll take ownership of electrical designs from concept through to construction support, including:

  • HV substation design across the 11kV–400kV range
  • Protection and control system design, schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Cable schedules, sizing and earthing design
  • Equipment specification (transformers, switchgear)
  • Attending design reviews and client meetings
  • Supporting procurement and commissioning

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in HV electrical design, ideally across 11kV–400kV substations
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Solid grounding in protection and control philosophy
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN (or similar)
  • Confident liaising with clients and managing multiple work strands

Desirable

  • IEC knowledge
  • Renewable energy or BESS project exposure
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership
  • IET Membership
