HV Lead Design Engineer
London | Hybrid (3 Days) | Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Are you an Electricity Design Engineer looking to work on complex grid connection and distributed generation projects?
We're recruiting for an HV Lead Design Engineer to join a rapidly expanding multi-utility company delivering innovative electricity network solutions across the UK. You'll play a key role in designing LV & HV networks, leading and managing the team, supporting renewable energy connections and working alongside DNOs, developers and customers to deliver safe, compliant and efficient infrastructure.

- Lead, coach and develop a team of Design Engineers.
- Review and approve LV, HV & EHV network designs.
- Manage DNO connection applications and upstream network negotiations.
- Liaise with developers, customers and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with electricity design, construction and safety standards.
- Act as the technical authority for complex engineering queries.
- Drive continuous improvement and support business growth.
We're looking for:
- Experience designing LV & HV electricity networks (EHV advantageous).
- Background within a DNO, IDNO or ICP environment.
- Strong knowledge of WinDebut, IPSA, VisNet or equivalent.
- Understanding of 2D CAD and electricity network design standards.
- Previous leadership, mentoring or supervisory experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
