HVAC / AHU Site Works Manager
Greater Manchester
£45,000–£55,000 depending on experience + Company Vehicle
Permanent, Full-Time
At Air Handlers Northern Ltd, we are an established HVAC and mechanical engineering business looking for an experienced Siteworks Manager to take responsibility for the management and coordination of our site-based activities.
This is a varied role combining HVAC and air handling technical knowledge, team management, project delivery and customer liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, support and develop the Site Supervisors, monitoring performance, workmanship and standards.
- Work closely with the Site Coordinator to plan works, allocate resources and ensure projects are properly prepared.
- Carry out and coordinate HVAC and mechanical site surveys and technical assessments.
- Provide technical guidance and make decisions when problems or unexpected conditions arise on site.
- Develop practical solutions for AHU repairs, refurbishment, modifications and upgrades.
- Manage siteworks projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Liaise directly with customers and attend site meetings where required.
- Prepare and support quotations for service, maintenance, refurbishment, repair and modification works.
- Coordinate internal technical teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures are in place.
- Identify opportunities for refurbishment, energy-efficiency improvements and ongoing service and maintenance work.

About You
We are looking for someone with a strong practical and technical background in HVAC, air handling, mechanical building services or facilities engineering, together with experience managing site-based personnel.
You should have:
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, air handling units (AHUs) or mechanical building services.
- Experience within HVAC service, maintenance, refurbishment, installation or mechanical projects.
- Previous experience managing engineers, Site Supervisors, service engineers or site-based teams.
- The ability to carry out site surveys, identify technical problems and develop practical solutions.
- Good understanding of site Health & Safety requirements.
- Strong project management, organisational and customer-facing skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience with air handling equipment including fans, motors, coils, filters, dampers, controls and heat recovery systems would be advantageous.
